Random thoughts after reading @darrylyeo’s thoughts around the new FC.
I’ll need to refine this at some point, but you’ll get the idea.
What’s going well:
- Win and help others win
- Reward learning
- Building, developing, etc
- Community alignment
- AI for moderation
- Positive sum idea
- Constraints. This can produce good results for the right people. Tricky to sync and agree at scale.
What could be improved:
- Rule enforcement. You can’t expect a newcomer to read the whole NS manifesto or contract.
- It’s no different than showing cookies or terms and conditions. People will usually accept just because they’re worried of losing everything they built over the years.
- AI for moderation sounds like police. I feel that most folks wouldn’t even bother reading what counts as a felony. Leading to a potential ban.
- Lots of OGs have already been banned. How can their voices be heard? Isn’t this an anti win and help others win situation?
